So now that we have caught up with some time off from our house, we started out with painting...

OK, first project of the summer (we tried having skylights installed, but then our roof started leaking during a storm so we had to pay for that...now we are skipping an "icing on the cake" project and move on) PAINTING THE HOUSE!

The prep work was time consuming...

This contraption is actually borrowed from a work friend of Justin's. He used to paint homes and had "ladder jacks." You basically secure them to the ladder rungs and lay a third ladder over them like a bridge. It worked very well I must say.

Using the spray painter (rented from Home Depot) worked better than expected. We were fearful it would kick up so much dust, have over spray, etc., that painting would be hard to do, but it was very smooth. Oh, BTW, don't trust what you hear from the home deport reps. The rental guy didn't know what he was talking about. He wanted me to paint the house using the nozzle set to reverse (the "clean out" position). Claiming it would allow for tighter painting and more control, Justin didn't believe him. Who would expect to paint a whole house with a 2 inch spread...

Even the Farhvergnugen (Nugen for short) wanted to help. Oh and he did, got paint all over himself he did.
