OK, time to push to the finish.

Ok, so, we have planned to host a dinner with a whole bunch of friends. To make that happen, we have to finish today (Saturday) the installation of the counter tops and appliance delivery from last Thursday. Last night, Justin was up all night working on hooking up our new gas range, and installing our new overhead microwave while I cleaned up all the dust from the counter top installation. Justin had to move an outlet or two to get the stove and microwave installed. So really, the appliance part of it took hardly any time at all. There was too much work and I was too tired to take pictures of Justin at work.

So, now on to Saturday. We need to get support in place for our large over hang on the peninsula. It's 18 inches. That's huge! We definitely need some strong support for that. It would have been more narrow and built up like a bar, but after taking to contractors, it would have taken more time, $, and moved our cabinets. So, this was our best alternative.

After installation, the counter top fabricator put 2x4s under the over hang to help until we could get support under the over hand. We bought these L-brackets from an industrial supply store. They are weight rated up to 1,000 pounds each. That makes me feel pretty safe. Sorry the pictures loaded out of order, but the plywood support had to be add to back of the cabinets to adequately support the new L-brackets.

Yea, we are done. The sink is in, the over head microwave is in, the new gas stove is in, and...
The new refrigerator is in! Just in time for our guests to arrive for the dinner party. Time to clean up. We wouldn't have been able to do it without the recommendations from our friends, the first being the counter top fabricator and supplier, and the second being a friend of a friend who works for Whirlpool...yes, a very nice discount there. $ saved all around to stretch our wages. I think we are down to flooring, painting the master bedroom, painting the dining room, and painting the kitchen/living room. Oh, and we have to do the guest bath too. So the list is longer than I hoped, but I can at least make a list now...
