So one of the first projects on the list is to strip and restain the cabinets. The cabinets are oak and in really good condition but a lot of the stain has worn away and the color is an ugly brown. This project showed my short-sidedness in that I initially went with a cherry stain that looked terrible with the wood trim throughout the house. I then tried to cover that with a redish-brown color, but it was still too red. I have now gone with a dark brown (pictures to follow). I don't like it so much but it does go better with everything else.
